Diarrhea or upset stomach is very uncomfortable situation. Whether it is loose, constipated, gassy or indigestion all of these conditions are attributed to viral infections and intestinal disorders. Upset stomach or diarrhea is accompanied by following symptoms like nausea, abdominal bloating or pain and irritable bowel movement. Are you ever think that this situation is handle at home?  Surprisingly, yes it can be handled easily with kitchen spices or ingredients. Certain home remedies are so effective that it could work at once. Natural herbs combat diarrhea and have strength to fight against infections.


Certain home remedies of  diarrhea and upset stomach are as follows;

1. White Rice


In diarrhea situation plain white rice is highly recommended by granny due to their experience. Plain white rice is easily digestible because in upset stomach or diarrhea situation you need energy to combat the condition. Furthermore, white plain rice  also helps to decrease the amount of loose, watery stools.

But plain rice is taken alone without any spice or sauce otherwise have no effect. Increase the amount of plain rice when you feels diarrhea is now controllable and situation improves.

2. Carrot Soup

Carrot is considered as a rich source of fiber and carrot soup is assumed to have antidyspeptic effects. Carrot soup is good for diarrhea situation because it provides essential nutrients which may be lost during diarrhea.

Wash and scrape the carrots and then chopped them. Take a pan add little water and put carrots in it and pressure cook for 10 minutes. Now add little or according to taste salt and black pepper. Eat this soup daily but always make it fresh when ever suffering from diarrhea.

3. Simple Fluids


Diarrhea is a situation when you lose your essential nutrients from the body and become dehydrated. Drink fluids or water as much as you can. Drink at least two glasses of water after every 10 minutes along with you can drink vegetable soups, clear sodas and coconut water too.

Beware of caffeine and alcoholic drinks also avoid acidic drinks or juices of citrus fruits because these will reverse the situation.

4. Black Seeds Oil

Black seeds are considered a solution of many ailments and we can easily get rid of many chronic stage diseases like constipation, gas, asthma and diarrhea etc. Black seed oil is use to treat the diarrhea conditions. Take one teaspoon full of black seed oil add in a bowl of plain yogurt and eat this twice a day until diarrhea completely go away. But if you see that by taking black seed oil situation is become more adverse than should visit the doctor.

5. Yogurt

Plain yogurt reduces discomfort from as upset stomach. As yogurt is an effective cure of indigestion and stomach discomfort. It boost up the energy levels and also give strength to immune system.

6. Mint Tea

Mint has antioxidant properties. It is helpful in reducing inflammation of intestine. Mint tea can provide instant relief from abdominal bloating and abdominal pains. Mint tea is also useful for many other stomach aliments.

Take fresh mint leaves wash them. Take a pan fill it with two cups of water add washed mint leaves in it and  put it over stove. After 7-10 minutes remove it from burner and keep it cool. Now drink this tea twice or even thrice a day. It will help the digestive system to function properly.

7. Banana

Banana is highly recommended in diarrhea and specially ripe banana because it contains high pectin contents. Pectin is basically water-soluble fiber that helps to combat with diarrhea situation. Banana is a rich source of potassium. Eat a few ripen bananas until condition subsides.

8. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is considered as as effective remedy for many diseases and aliments. It is effective agent against  bacteria that causes diarrhea. Add one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar into one glass of water and drink this solution twice a day until symptoms subsides. Apple cider vinegar helps to get rid of situation of abdominal cramping, gas and upset stomach.
